What is Love? God's View On Love And RelationshipsSample
SAY WHAT?
There is no limit to the love of a real friend.
BREAKDOWN: I have had many friends in my lifetime, some that I knew were only going to be around for a season and others I thought were going to be my friends for life. In some cases I was right, but in many cases I was wrong. Some people you may believe are real friends leave at the first sign of trouble. Solomon, the author of the Book of Proverbs, was inspired by God to write that a “real” friend loves at ALL times. Their love and commitment is not seasonal. It last at all times.
The question for you is not really how many real friends do you have that love at all times but are you a friend that loves at all times? Through the good times and the bad times, through the ups and the downs, are you a committed friend? If you are a committed friend then you will attract committed friends. God is a friend that loves at all times. He loves us when we make mistakes and when we do well. God’s love should encourage us to live better for Him. Jesus died for your sins and mine because his love is limitless.
LIVE IT OUT: Today look at your friends and rate them as “real” or “seasonal” friends. Also rate yourself according to your current friends and to access if you are a real friend or a seasonal friend. Pray over your results and see how God wants you to move forward.
PRAYER: Lord, today help me to love at ALL times and to remember the times that You loved me in spite of me. God help me to see my real friends that love me in all seasons and allow me to be a friend that also loves in all seasons and at all times. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
Society has it’s own definition of what it means to love and what true love is. However, that definition and God’s definition are very different. This 7-day devotional is designed to take you on a journey through God’s love in both the Old and New Testaments. Each day, a definition of God’s love will be explained through scripture and then defined in everyday language. Let's get started! Go to afterthemusicstops.org for the full length version of this plan.
