Choose be the light in darkness

Recently I was having a conversation at the dining table with my office colleagues and everyone was chatting about the recent viral attacks, dengue fever and the H1N1 fever spreading across our country. The conversation was followed by some health and hygiene tips. While all were agreeing that prevention is better than cure, their heads moved towards me waiting for an acknowledgment.

At that time, the Holy Spirit reminded me what God has promised in Psalm 91:10 - no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. This is a promise that works for all who choose to dwell in the shelter of the Most High (Psalm 91:1, 9).

Many times we agree with the thinking patterns of the world, but as children of God, we are set apart from the world. As you are reading this, be encouraged because you and your family is covered under God’s protection. There is a hedge around you which no infection or disease can pass.

This knowledge moved me, because of which I was boldly able to say to my colleagues “This is not for me and my family!”

As believers you and I are called to be the light in this dark world. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5)
