SAYING 12: BE TEACHABLE

One of the basic principles of wisdom is teachability. There's a scene in the movie Doctor Strange where our protagonist, Dr. Steven Strange, meets The Ancient One, a master wizard. During their brief encounter, The Ancient One shows Steven all of the potential lying within him. Overwhelmed, Dr. Strange simply responds, 'Teach me!" This is the moment where he becomes great; it was not in the glory of his prior life as a famed neurosurgeon, but the moment he realized he had so much to learn. 

That is why the scriptures, over and over again, encourage us to be teachable. Don't ever believe that you have it all figured out; there is always more to learn. Every conversation and every relationship you have is an opportunity that God can use to teach you something. Live hungry. Let your desire for growth and wisdom increase with time. God is always ready to teach us new things if we are postured to learn them.
