True North: Going Through Hell for HeavenSample
At this point, you may have become aware that you have been misled about or misunderstood what it is to be a Christian. Remember back on Day 1, we asked the question “What is it to be a Christian?” You may have come to the conclusion in the past two days that you haven’t truly received the gift of salvation. Don’t feel guilty about that. THE REASON? God has used this reading plan to call to you and offer you His freedom and certainty of eternity. I invite you to pray right now to receive His gift of salvation and amazing love for you.
Father, in Jesus name, I declare that Jesus is Lord. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. I receive Him as my Savior through the blood of the cross that He bled for me. I confess that I am a sinner. I am sorry and I receive Your gift of salvation, Jesus, and Your love for me. I ask You to forgive me and wash me with Your cleansing blood, Jesus. I ask to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to be my counsel and to guide me to be a fully devoted follower of You. Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice for me. I believe in You and surrender my life, mind, body, soul, spirit, will, past, present, and future to You. Equip me to serve You and others for Your Kingdom. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer, WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD. You have made the most important and most freeing decision of your life. You now stand as an heir to God Almighty and are called a son/daughter. I am proud of you and honored that you are my brother/sister in Jesus Christ. Please speak with your pastor about baptism and discipleship.
So, Days 1-3 are now very important. You just joined the ranks of the most powerful army that has ever existed. SPOILER ALERT: we WIN and Satan knows that. He also knows you have received salvation and are aware of his tactics. In Ephesians 6:10-18, Scripture gives us what we need to stand firm as a fellow warriors with Jesus Christ. Put on the Full Armor of God! This isn’t a game. Embrace and commit Ephesians 6:10-18 to memory. Hide these verses in your heart and speak them in authority against your enemy when he comes. You are powerful because of your adoption as a child of God!
About this Plan
How often are we given the idea that being a Christian is a joyful, peaceful and carefree life? As well as the idea that you may have some bumps in the journey here and there, yet with a prayer or two, everything will be right-as-rain? There are those times when these ideas are fulfilled in our Christian lives. However, what often is not talked about is the hell you will have to endure to reach the Heaven that is promised. In this 6-Day reading plan, we will journey through the reality of the Christian walk to capture the hope that is total devotion to and love for Jesus Christ.
