Hollywood Prayer Network On ComfortSample
GOOD NEWS! WE GET BEAUTY FOR ASHES
"Religion works. I know there's comfort there, a crash pad. It's something to explain the world and tell you there is something bigger than you, and it is going to be alright in the end. It works because it's comforting." Brad Pitt
PRAY: Dear God, I want to experience Your Spirit upon me, Sovereign Lord, so that I can proclaim the good news to the poor, the needy and the broken hearted. I pray that I can proclaim freedom for the captives and ask that You release prisoners from darkness. Lord, I pray today for the people in Hollywood who don't know You. May I proclaim freedom over them, in the name of Jesus. Would You comfort all of them who mourn and let them see Your splendor. I pray this in Your righteous name, Amen and Amen.
REFLECT: Reflect on how God not only created us in His image, but He has given us the power to proclaim His good news to others. He sends us to free the captives, comfort those who mourn and offer joy to others. We can be called oaks of righteousness and we can display His splendor. That's a profound realization. We can bring good news to those in our family, our neighborhood, our mission field, and even to those we don't know through prayer. Who can you pray for to receive a spirit of praise instead of despair? What captives can you free? Who can you comfort?
ACT: Pray for one family member, one friend and one person in Hollywood who may need to be freed from some captivity, who is mourning and needs comfort or who is lost and needs to find Jesus. Spend 10 minutes right now praying for these three people - whether they are Christians or not, and ask the Lord to fill them with His Spirit, through the power of the Spirit in you!
