The Treasures of Psalm 23Sample
God gives you His rest
“He makes me to lie down in green pastures.” (the Bible, Psalm 23:2)
Did you know that God Himself rested? After working busily for six days to create the world, God rested on the seventh day. Then He instituted, in the Ten Commandments, a rest for His people: the Sabbath.
This weekly rest was an image of the perfect and eternal rest that Jesus brought by coming to this earth. This rest is not a product of our works. It is founded solely on Jesus Christ! Jesus said, “‘Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’” (the Bible, Matthew 11:28)
Do you feel weary, weighed down, worn out? Come to Jesus now. He is your shepherd and He will give you rest, physical rest, as well as mental and spiritual rest.
- Let yourself be led by Jesus (He is gentle and lowly in heart)
- Allow Him to teach you (He is the perfect Teacher)
And your life will find fulfillment in divine rest! (see the Bible, Matthew 11:29)
