## When God Whispers Have you ever wondered what it means to hear God’s voice? Like, the creator of the universe would actually talk to you? Yes? I’m glad you asked! God still speaks today. Shhhh, listen. Thoughts: Elijah was a prophet. He did mighty things, supernatural things that would wow anyone. The lesson we learn from this scripture is Elijah, as powerful as he was … was freaking out. He put his eyes on what he was seeing, and he began to move in fear, forgetting how powerful God was. Even in his biggest storm, God was near. He wasn’t in the wind, he was not in the earthquake, he was not in the fire … but he WAS in the gentle whisper. God’s voice can always be heard when we stop the noise, calm ourselves and listen. It’s still, it’s small and it’s a whisper to your heart. When Elijah cried out from His fear – God spoke. His voice comes when we begin to listen – in the quiet. When we shut everything down and turn our heart and affection toward the Lord. Challenge: 1. SILENCE! When was the last time you sat down and actually stopped to listen in the silence? 2. LISTEN! In what areas of your life do you need to hear God’s voice? 3. PRAY! Stop yourself now, pray, ask the Lord, “Speak to me, Lord.” Then listen.
