Unrealistic Expectations And Fairy Tales

Unrealistic expectations and fairy tails.......Those things are fun and great but if we aren’t careful they will take us from being the president of the optimist club to the King/Queen of la-la land. I love a warm and fuzzy feel good movie or book, in fact I think my face gets stuck in an anticipating grin while I watch/read them. The truth is, they are just fantasies; our friends/boyfriends/girlfriends, and family ....are not perfect AND NEITHER ARE WE! 

Sometimes, in real life, girl doesn’t get the guy, you don't make the team, your post doesn't break 100 likes......but life will go on and things will be the way God has planned for our lives because He is in control. Enjoy the moments and memories you make with your friends, the perfect and not so perfect ones.

Try putting the happy in your own world...but don’t be let down if your plans fail or if someone doesn’t respond the way you thought they should to your kindness. You can stay in touch with reality and still have fun and adventurous moments. God is greater than any writer/director and His gifts and blessings for you last longer and make a greater impact than any feelings we get from watching/reading these awesome stories. 

Challenge:

Make today memorable. Cherish every moment, if things in your world don’t seem to be looking like a fairytale, don’t give up or be discouraged. God is writing your story, it isn’t over, He has a plan, and unlike the novels/movies, we don’t always know how things are going to work out, because every person’s story isn’t the same. 

Children aren’t the only ones that have dreams  and fantasies for a fairytale life... just make sure you trust your dreams to the giver of life and the creator of all.
