This Time Next Year

DAY 5 OF 7

When I think of Ruth’s role in the Bible, I think of a GO-GETTER. What Ruth shows us in the book of Ruth is that she trusted and knew God was working behind the scenes and around the clock, but what she would have to do is work in the natural as well. She leaves her home, she prepares for work, and she gleans in the field. She has the boldness to wake up, get up, and get out and step into the unknown of what God had for her. Ruth’s unknown would ultimately become Ruth’s open door for her destiny. God will open the doors, bring the provision, connect us to the right people, but the decision to wake up, get up, get out, and get moving is up to us.

The unknown is scary. There’s so much that could happen—so many of our plans that we cling to could change, so many pieces of life could be move around, people could leave, opportunities could disappear, comfortable chapters & seasons could come to an end, but the unknown is where God’s known begins.

God has so much for us in the unknown. We wouldn’t be able to step out into the unknown unless we grabbed God’s hand to guide us. The unknown is exactly where God’s known is found in Him, but we have to be willing to get up, get out, and get moving.

In the midst of us stepping out of the boat in faith and taking a risk, there lies the opportunity for God’s will & plan to happen. When we step out into an unknown future, but trust a very well known God and his good & perfect intentions, there’s so much more we allow ourselves to experience.

Note: the opportunity can’t come to pass unless we’re ready to get up, get out, and get moving. Until then, the opportunities & possibilities remain right in front of us. This time next year, God wants us to look back and note the times we got UP, got OUT, and got MOVING—even when it was tough, even when it was easier to sit, even when we couldn’t see the opportunities & possibilities.

Get up, get out, and get moving.
