True North: Brotherhood Is A Necessity Sample

STRENGTH

I think it’s common knowledge that there is strength in numbers. Nobody wants to walk the streets of a dangerous city at night by themselves. Sadly enough, that’s what many people are doing as they walk through life without the strength provided by brothers in Christ.

The brotherhood you form in a small group is like weaving your life with theirs. Like King Solomon, the wisest man to have ever lived, said in Ecclesiastes, “ a 3-fold cord is not easily broken.” It is because those individual pieces of rope are woven together and support the weight of the others. As you spend time together, develop trust, and unite with your brothers in Christ, you will support their weight when they are unable. Likewise, they will support your weight when you are unable, and there will be those times.

Sometimes in life, we do not have the strength to get ourselves in front of Jesus. We are too weak or disabled. Jesus saw it first hand as a man was lowered through a roof as he was teaching. The disabled man was unable to do this for himself, but his friends provided the strength that he did not have so that Christ could heal him.
