1“At that time the Lord said to me, #Ex. 34:1, 2 ‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and #Ex. 25:10make an ark of wood. 2And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and #Ex. 25:16, 21you shall put them in the ark.’ 3So I made an ark #Ex. 25:10; 37:1 of acacia wood, and #Ex. 34:4cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. 4And #Ex. 34:28 he wrote on the tablets, in the same writing as before, the Ten Commandments#10:4 Hebrew the ten words #Ex. 20:1 that the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire #See ch. 9:10on the day of the assembly. And the Lord gave them to me. 5Then I turned and #Ex. 34:29 came down from the mountain and #Ex. 40:20 put the tablets in the ark that I had made. #1 Kgs. 8:9And there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”
