Tedashii: Fire Away

There’s no doubt that life has its shares of ups and downs. Whether you are following Christ or not, we live in a world that’s imperfect and life can throw us some major curveballs sometimes. It’s a given, in this life, you will face moments, even seasons, that are difficult and extremely tough to deal with.

Sometimes this comes in the form of temptation. The enemy can’t force you to sin against God, but he can try his best to convince you that you should. The enemy will tell you lie after lie about how this “sin” is more fulfilling than the love of God in your life. In those circumstances, we tend to just “try harder”, or “work harder”, or just “sin less”. Do these tactics really ever work when we try and handle it ourselves?

When temptation and hard times are thrown our way, we need to call in some backup. We need to call upon God, who has overcome the enemy, and give that burden and temptation to him. Think of it almost like a muscle reflex; when temptation comes, we go straight to God. When we get in the habit of doing this, the enemy can fire away with all he’s got, because the One who is within us, is greater than the one against us. Call upon God, for He is stronger!
