Let There Be LightSample
Marvelous Light
When we know what something is, we also know what it’s not. For example, when someone says they’re hot, we know that they’re not cold. When Jesus says in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,” we know that Jesus is light. He is not darkness. In Him, there is no darkness. When we walk with Jesus in this life, we’re called to walk out of darkness and into His marvelous light.
When you walk in the dark, you can’t see where you are or where you’re going. It’s scary, and things look out of proportion or seem to be something they’re not. In the dark, objects are hardly ever what they appear to be. Secrets and deception live in the dark. However, Jesus is light. He exposes truth, and His light brings us clarity, so we can see things as they really are—not what the scary dark makes them seem to be. Let’s step out of darkness because it’s not from God. His light brings freedom, clarity, and truth, and it’s marvelous!
