What If You Could? - Find Faith In The Face Of FearSample
Most people like to have a routine. It makes them feel safe. Doing the same thing, when it’s successful, assures you that you have the right formula. But if that formula is not working, is not in line with God’s will, or is no longer under the anointing, then believing in that formula is a false hope. Some people are afraid of any kind of change—even having something different to eat for lunch or moving the furniture around or changing their hairstyle. The fear of change causes you to get stuck. But change is inevitable. Things will change, so why not make it so it goes in your favor? Changing things requires faith that the new circumstances will bring good or better results than before. Here is where good decision making and using wisdom are essential.
What if you got a promotion, and you changed the way things were being done in a way that benefitted the people who worked at your organization or the people who bought goods or services from your company? What if you stopped eating junk food and started eating healthy foods and creating tasty, nutritious meals for yourself and your family because you had the faith that God would help you lose weight? What if you started a blog and shared your ideas with other healthy-minded people? You could perhaps save lives in ways you may never know.
Think about what you are called to do, what your faith will allow you to step out and change. Think about how using your faith to overcome fears of failure could create a new path for your life. Many of our presidents were successful farmers, lawyers, generals, teachers, or scholars. One was an architect and inventor, another a film star, and some were wealthy entrepreneurs. If you have read about their lives, you can see they all felt a compelling calling. They wanted to change the way things were done. So against all odds, conventional thinking, and the naysayers, they set out to win the highest office in the nation. And they did! Why? Because they believed in their gifts and in their dreams. They never thought about how to lose. We are all capable of greatness and of doing extraordinary things. Though not everyone will be famous or celebrated, every human being has the promise to become an instrument of God. Don’t live your life in quiet desperation, forgetting you are an anointed child of God. Don’t let your light be obscured because you’re hiding it under a basket. Have faith in your outcome.
