Pitfalls To Avoid In Kingdom Living - Disciple Makers Series #8Sample

Pitfalls To Avoid In Kingdom Living - Disciple Makers Series #8

DAY 2 OF 6

Watch out! There are bad leaders.

Thoughts on this passage

Watch out! False people reveal themselves by what they do.

This warning is for God’s people. First, how do you tell the difference between godly leaders and people who just talk like they are? The answer is look at the results of their work, their words, and their responses to problems. This is the fruit that tells you if they are godly or fake leaders.

It is also what will be revealed in my life . In each of us. Take a hard look at your life. Step back and see what actually is happening. Are the results of my life filled with good responses to life? Have I managed my reactions to difficult situations in a godly way? Have I left a trail of brokenness behind me, or are people better because I have released life everywhere I went? This tells me what kind of leader I am.

It probably scares all of us.

So commit today to release life in every situation and with everything we do and every relationship we have.

Time to Pray

Father, I choose life. I choose it not only for me but I choose to release it everywhere I go and in everything I do. Help me today, I pray. I know that my natural desires are going to take me where I do not want to go – seeking to be first, seeking to have attention drawn to me and what I do. Father, today I desire to be a servant. One that You will entrust with responsibility, one who will never claim it as mine. It is Yours, for Your honor, for Your praise and for You. Take everything I have and do – and make it a blessing for Your sake. In Jesus’ name Amen.

About this Plan

Pitfalls To Avoid In Kingdom Living - Disciple Makers Series #8

Matthew writes to God’s people and walks them on a journey that will take them from where they are to be Disciple Makers. This is the 8th of 27 devotional plans walking us through the book of Matthew.  The final kingdom teaching spells out the dangers and pitfalls that we must avoid.  We then start to see Kingdom living in action.
