REboot: Starting OverSample
HIS PRESENCE: I want to see Jesus
Andrew wanted to see Jesus. The Samaritan woman invited her village to come and see Jesus. Royal official wanted a touch of Jesus. The disciples needed to see Jesus amid the storm. Mary and Martha desired a miracle from Jesus.
You and I need to reach the point, where we confess, I want to see Jesus! I seek His PRESENCE in my life.
Jesus recognizes this desire in our lives. He is more than willing to reveal His presence in our lives.
When we encounter His presence, Jesus wants us to be willing to take the next step of recognizing who Jesus is.
The crowds who enjoyed a sumptuous meal from a small boy's five loaves and two fish, needed to recognize: Jesus is the Bread of life (John 6)
However, recognizing someone is different from responding to someone. You may recognize your boss from a distance, but that's different from choosing to respond to his instructions or reject them.
When we experience the tangible touch of Jesus in our life, either by answered prayer or a healing miracle, it must lead us to recognize who Jesus is and respond to His claims in our lives.
However, like the crowds, we can experience the presence of Jesus, recognize who He is and yet choose to reject Him.
As you start the study of the gospel of John, ask yourself: what are the amazing WORKS that Jesus does that reveals His tangible presence? In this category, you could include miracles, signs and wonders, impossible things that is naturally not possible. Seeing His wonders and works leads you to believe in His name.
Do you seek Jesus to do these amazing works in your life today?
