Courageous Humility Pt. 1Sample
Nebuchadnezzar had witnessed the faith of three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He witnessed them walk through a fire. But not just walk through on their own, He witnessed a fourth person with them, believed to be God. They had the courage to believe God was able to save them and rescue them from the king’s power but were resolute in their conviction that even if He didn’t, they would never compromise their devotion to God and worship others or idols. Is our faith in Christ so resolute that we know He is able to see us through or even deliver us from trials, but even if He doesn’t we will remain faithful?
In the New Testament, we read of a Roman officer, Cornelius who had witnessed from Galilee to crucifixion {read Acts 10:37-42}, Jesus’s journey and became a devout God-fearing man. As a result of witnessing all that had taken place, and placing his trust in the Lord, he was led (and courageously followed) to a place where not only he but his family and close friends were baptized with the Holy Spirit and in water. Jesus’s courageous devotion to God and the disciples’ courageous devotion to Jesus, was a testimony to the Gentiles.
Do we see our journey and courageous devotion to the Lord, in fact, causes others to be led to freedom, placing their trust in God? Where might God be calling us to be more courageously resolute in our conviction to live holy lives for Him, and the sake of others?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for helping us to see, the result of us crying out to You and having You set us on Your solid ground and path, is not solely for our benefit. It is so others will see and be amazed and place their trust in You. Today, help us to see the areas where other souls may not clearly see You in our lives. Help us to not only see, but be willing to correct and prune the blind spots, so others may come to know and place their trust in You. God, give us the courage to courageously follow after You, even in the fire. Give us the courage to seek You in prayer and trust You will lead us where we need to go. Thank You, Jesus, for Your goodness. In the Name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
About this Plan
Be strong. Be Alert. Be Courageous. These words are the premise of this 30 day study where you will uncover God's desire for you to call out to Him and trust He will hear. Not only hear, but set you on sure footing, a path He sets before you, for your sake and the sake of those around you. From there you will dig into Scripture around what it means to courageously step into God's presence, how to do so, and what you can expect as a result of going into His presence. Finally, you will be encouraged to step towards the healing Christ offers, both individually, and as the collective Bride of Christ. Each day you will be encouraged to ask questions, seek answers in God and His Word, and identify the step YOU sense the Holy Spirit compelling you to take. Courage accompanies ACTION, and Christ reveals to us where to move next, while the Holy Spirit empowers us to do so!
