CODE III
I will unashamedly make him known through my actions and words.
BIBLE READING: Matthew 10:26-31
"So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
DEVOTIONAL:
A resolved and resolute heart to unashamedly make Jesus known by your words and by your actions will draw a massive target on your back. We have seen it over and over again at CVM, as men decide to stick their heads up, as men stand on the fire step in the trench and look over the parapet to advance for Jesus they will be attacked. It's real.
In this place, fear and courage collide and it was no different for the disciples as they were sent out by Jesus in the Bible reading. However, what we have seen at CVM is a generation of men whose courage and insane kingdom potential has been blunted by personal failure, sin and attack.
To be a follower of Jesus means that fearful places, situations and moments will form part of the landscape of your life, the target on your back is there. In your marriage, in your finances, in your health and employment, the stuff you get wrong will be a stone in your shoe if you let it. For the early disciples, they literally turned the world upside down as they unashamedly made Jesus known in word and action.
QUESTIONS:
- Have you faced some difficult situations and found courage?
- Have you been able to help others be courageous?
- What things in your life at the moment require you to be courageous?
PRAYER:
Jesus, fill us with courage as we face the fears of living and following you publicly. Help us to proclaim you boldly as we live to show your glory as men of faith in today's generation. Amen

About this Plan
The CODE is CVM’s (Christian Vision for Men’s) 12-point code of honour for Christian men to live by and fight for. It will allow us to be shaped by our brother, captain, rescuer and friend. The CODE isn’t some new theology, or a substitute for the Bible, the CODE is simply the 'tip of the spear', the catalyst for driving men deeper into God and His word.
