The Fruit of the Spirit: Love is a fruit of the Spirit
Here’s a universal principle, true for all mankind: people need love. We all live in a world awash in pain, hatred, fear, and self-loathing. We are all starved for affection and approval. What a joy it is to hear the Bible’s message in Galatians chapter 5 that one of the fruits of the Spirit is love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (verses 22,23).
In other words, it is one of the Spirit’s major working goals to bring God’s love to you, plant it in your heart, and help you to believe that you are somebody precious to the Lord. And then he inspires and empowers you to love other people.
