Be Refreshed: Devotions For Women In The WorkplaceSample
When to Cut Back
Every woman I know experiences pressure to do more, whether at work, with family, at church, or with countless worthy causes. Cutting back isn’t easy, even when you know you need to. Besides the basic discomfort that comes along with saying no, there’s a deeper issue of value and self-worth at play. In our do-more culture, we’ve all learned to associate busyness with importance and purpose, believing that if we’re not always doing “something,” we must be wasting our time.
Consider all the times in the Bible when we’re called not to action but to stillness, to consideration, and to waiting. By cutting back, you’re opening up. You’re creating space to breathe, to grow, and to hear and respond to God’s call on your life. What could be more important than that?
