To Another Mountain
What a day! God has shown his power in an amazing way. Everyone can see now that Elijah was right. God is the only one who should be followed by King Ahab and all the people.
But there’s a twist in this story because not everyone agreed! King Ahab told his wife Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and she became very angry. She wanted to kill Elijah.
Elijah ran away because he was afraid and very sad. After walking for a whole day, Elijah laid down under a tree, prayed to God and fell asleep. While he was sleeping, an angel came to Elijah and told him to eat.
Find out what Elijah had to eat, in verses 5 to 9.
God provided food to make Elijah strong for the journey ahead because he was going to travel a long ways.
The journey took 40 days, but at last, Elijah reached Mount Sinai. He was so tired, he laid down and went to sleep in a cave. He was fed up and just wanted to die. He didn’t know what to do.
Then God spoke powerfully to Elijah. Read verses 11 to 13 aloud, and speak the words that God spoke to Elijah.
God had not given up on Elijah. God told Elijah he wanted him to do some more work for him!
Pray: Think about this story. What do you want to say to God about it? Say it now.

About this Plan
King Ahab had turned away from God and was not doing what God wanted. Elijah was a prophet, someone chosen by God to tell people what God wants to say to them. He had told Ahab what God wanted, but Ahab didn’t care. Find out what happened in this three-day children’s Bible reading plan. This plan complements the free children’s game app, Guardians of Ancora.
