God's Gifts in Our World: Seeds
Ever studied a seed up close? Dry, dead. And yet this marvelous feat of divine engineering is God’s way of feeding the world. Seeds are portable, last a long time, and reproduce explosively. Seeds are God’s gifts to his always hungry children.
Seeds are also a poignant picture of how your salvation was won. Jesus told Philip a few days before he died, “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (John 12:24). Get it? Jesus is the seed--packed with future life to give to millions, but needing to be planted in the ground for that life to become activated.
Your life is also like a seed. The more you give of yourself, the more you have. And someday when you are planted in the ground, then you can really come alive.
