Millennial Kingdom Leader

DAY 3 OF 8

The Leader as Visionary

Vision is more important than title, and the leader, whether in the church or in the marketplace, has to see and be able to communicate the vision clearly to each person on their team (and the different personality types) - that way the leader can ensure that the vision can be run with. A well-outlined vision identifies roles and functions instead of people. The interesting thing about vision is that people gravitate towards vision. Thus, a vision has the ability to place the right talent with the right task.

I sat with my mentor and discussed the needs for our restaurant. She asked me to write down what we felt were necessary roles needed in the vision to fulfil the demand of a restaurant in Detroit, MI, open from 11am - 9pm, Monday through Saturday. As I began to list them, I learned that vision matched needs with talent (and a willingness to serve), not people.

The leader as visionary has the ability to be strategic in thought, decisive in thought, and descriptive and charismatic in communication. Every move made, or direction shared, is intentionally leading to the end result. Jesus taught us the impact of vision well. Upon ending his 40-day fast he casted vision "repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand." Then He filled roles "I will make you fisher of men" - and appointing seventy-two, sending them out in groups of two to each town before He arrived - Jesus understood that vision was filled with roles and that it took a team to accomplish every task.

Write the vision, make it plain, give it roles, give those roles functions and tasks, and give the vision a timeline. Transformation comes through clarity. Once Peter and Paul were clear of who they were in Christ (received vision), they changed the world (filled their roles and performed their task).

About this Plan

Millennial Kingdom Leader

A millennial kingdom leader has a well-outlined vision, the ability to communicate the vision and the anointing to leverage vision to transform lives. In today's culture, the idea of leadership has been distorted by social popularity, where the filter of image gains followers ' so ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch. ' Matthew 15:14. In this eight day devotional we'll learn that the core of a leader influences the spirit of the people, we'll outline biblical qualifications for a leader, identify leadership characteristics that are displayed throughout the Bible, and prepare the next generation of leaders. A leader's main objective is to reproduce more leaders whether in the church or in the marketplace. To be effective in your role as leader, you have to bear fruit - that process starts from within.
