Kids Can Fight Fear

DAY 6 OF 8

Fear is a feeling. It’s not who I am.

When we feel afraid, we might think it’s just a part of who we are. Like, “I’ll always be afraid of spiders,” or “I’ll always be afraid to talk in front of the class.”

But being afraid isn’t who we are. God made you exactly how He wanted you. He did not make fear the boss of you. 2 Timothy 1:7 teaches us that we’re not small in God’s eyes. God gives us power, love, and self-control. That’s who He made us to be.

We are mighty because God is mighty. With God on our side, we’re able to stand up to fear!

Watch the video and play Stack Attack to help you memorize 2 Timothy 1:7 and remember God made you powerful and brave.

Stack Attack

1. Get blocks, scissors, tape, paper, and a pencil.

2. Cut paper into small pieces.

3. Write one word from 2 Timothy 1:7 on each piece of paper.

4. Tape one piece of paper onto each block.

5. Stack blocks on top of each other to show 2 Timothy 1:7.

6. Attack the stack. Knock it over and build it again.

Talk It Over: Talk about something you feel like you’ll always be afraid of. How can God help you fight that fear?

About this Plan

Kids Can Fight Fear

When you’re afraid, trust God. God comforts us and calms our worries. Learn how to handle fear, how to trust God, and when fear is actually a good thing! For Parents: Your child will have a deeper understanding of each day’s reading and questions if you complete this Bible Plan with them. This plan includes several games to play for verse memorization. You may want to supervise use of materials.
