Everywhere I Go: Learning to See Jesus

DAY 251 OF 363

FAR REMOVED It's easy to adore One who can remove our sins so lovingly and thoroughly. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, our sins are taken away. The Bible says God's lovingkindness to us is as high as the heavens. How high is that? Well, the farthest object the human eye can see is estimated to be ten billion light years awayラand a light year is the speed of light traveling at 186,000 miles per second! Multiply that by 60 seconds in a minute, and then by 60 minutes in an hour, and then by 24 hours in a day, and 365 days a year - you get the picture. His lovingkindness goes that distance for us. And our sins, we are told, are put away as far from us as the east is from the west. Not north to south, but east to west. You see, north to south is a measurable distance, because the North and South Poles are stationary points on the globe. But east and west are different. You can start going east, and you can go east until you die, and you'll never be going west. You'll still be going east. If you go west (and keep going) you'll be going west until you die. Do you see what the psalmist was saying? God's love and mercy are immeasurable, and our sins, when they are in Christ, are never going to find us again. There is only one point in the world where an infinite vertical line and an infinite horizontal line meet, and that one point is Calvary. At the cross, God's mercy intersected our sin, and through the blood of Jesus Christ, cleansed us once and forever. Is it any wonder we adore Him?

About this Plan

Everywhere I Go: Learning to See Jesus

You may begin this devotional at any point during the year. Each devotional is designed to focus your mind and heart on a single concept. Read the title, then read through the devotional section with an open heart. Go to your Bible again and read the suggested scripture passage, asking yourself, "Is there a command to obey, a sin to avoid, an example to follow or a promise to claim?"
