HZY | BRP Week 2 - Who Is God?Sample

God Is The Eternal Creator
There is so much to discover about who God is, so let’s start in the beginning. The very first four words of the Bible introduce us to the eternal nature of God. “In the beginning, God…” points to the eternal nature of God, showing that He existed before creation itself. Take note of what God is doing as described in the creation account. In Genesis 1 we see our God as the Creator. He speaks into an empty world and creates life. He then purposefully created people in His own image.
This shows us that:
- We are not an accident of the universe.
- Instead, we see people are purposefully created and unlike the rest of creation, we are deliberately made in the image of God.
- We were, in fact, purposefully created for a relationship with the heavenly Father Himself.
God the Father created us and wants us to live in relationship with Him, knowing His care, support and leadership in our lives. That hasn’t changed. This is why He sent Jesus to show us how to live in relationship with and to deal with our separation from the Father.
DAILY RECAP:

2. How does knowing that we are purposefully created in God’s image help us?
