Day 3. Five All-Important Answers
Paul asks five all-important questions:
- "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" Romans 8:31- Knowing God is with you gives you an advantage. So whatever you're dealing with today, remind yourself, "God is for me."
- "Since [God] did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won’t [God]…give us everything else?" Romans 8:32 - Think about it: Would God save your soul and then leave you on your own? Would He take care of your eternal needs but ignore your earthly ones? No!
- "Who dares accuse us…? No one—for God Himself has given us right standing with Himself." Romans 8:33 - In Heaven, no one’s accusations, not even your own doubts, matter. God's acceptance is stronger than anyone’s rejection. He accepts you because He sees you through Jesus.’
- "Who then will condemn us?… Christ Jesus died for us… He is sitting in the place of honour at God’s right hand, pleading for us." Romans 8:34 - When people accuse you, Jesus, your defender, silences them. Why? Because His blood protects you.
- "Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love?" Romans 8:35 - Paul answers his own question in Romans 8:38-39: "Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love… nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Understanding these five truths can help you enjoy your day and sleep well at night!
