The Miracles of JesusSample
As weAs we conclude our study, let's look at two dangerous mindsets we can have when it comes to the miraculous power of Jesus.
The first, from Matthew 13, shows us how our faith impacts the miracles we see in our lives. The people were so familiar with Jesus that they didn't believe there could be anything they didn't know about Him, anything miraculous about Him. We must also guard against becoming so comfortable with Jesus we forget His world-creating, soul-saving, life-giving power!
The second, found in Matthew 16 and Mark 8, is to be careful not to demand a miraculous sign from Jesus, as if He were some kind of slot machine or genie at our command. While we should never hesitate to ask Him for a miracle, we cannot demand such a thing from Him! He doesn't exist to serve us; we exist to serve Him!
