Draw Your SwordSample

Let’s Be Real... You’re Gonna Need That Sword
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. (NLT)
Ephesians 6:17 - Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (NLT)
The Christian faith is typically described as a battle or a fight. To be honest, life is a fight with or without Christ. But unlike people who don’t share our faith, the Lord has given us a weapon to use in our daily battles, to help us fight our good fight of faith. That weapon, our sword, is the Word of God, our Bibles.
This weapon has the power to change lives, not just our own but the lives of everyone in the world around us. It is powerful and alive. It can transform our thoughts, heal our hearts, impact our emotions, and stir up our deepest passions and desires.
All we have to do is pick up our Bibles, are you ready to draw your sword?
Questions for reflection: Do I view my Bible as a weapon for the daily challenges I face? Do I rely on it as a source of power?
