The Power of the Resurrection

The resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith. Without it, there is no salvation, no forgiveness of sins, and no hope of eternal life. When Peter stood before the people of Jerusalem, he boldly declared that they had killed the Author of Life—but God had raised Him from the dead. What seemed like defeat was actually the greatest victory in history.

The people had chosen Barabbas, a murderer, over Jesus, the Son of God. They rejected the One who came to save them. Yet, even in their rejection, God’s plan of redemption was at work. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our sins, and His resurrection proved that the payment was accepted. Because He lives, we, too, can have life.

Paul reminds us that if we have died with Christ, we will also live with Him. Jesus’ resurrection is not just an event of the past; it is the promise of our future. Death no longer has dominion over Him, and because we are in Him, it no longer has dominion over us. Through Jesus, we have been set free from the power of sin and given the hope of eternal life.

This is the greatest news the world has ever known. Who in your life needs to hear this truth? Just as Peter and the apostles could not stay silent about what they had witnessed, we should also proclaim the life-changing power of the risen Savior. Through His sacrifice, we have forgiveness. Through His resurrection, we have victory. Let’s celebrate and share this good news—not just once a year, but every single day.
