The Psalms

DAY 11 OF 27

DAY 11 – PSALMS 58-63

“O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You;

my soul thirsts for You;

my flesh faints for You,

as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary,

beholding Your power and glory.

Because Your steadfast love is better than life,

my lips will praise You.”

Psalm 63:1-3

Wilderness seasons are inevitable, and how we respond to them reveals what we've been cultivating in our hearts. In these times, what is inside of us is exposed. We find out if we are truly hungry for God or merely for a life of ease.

Today's reading takes us through Psalm 63, where David, in the wilderness of Judah, earnestly seeks and thirsts for God. Amid testing, he remains steadfast in his pursuit of the Lord, having witnessed God’s power and glory in the past. Remembrance is powerful—it strengthens our hunger for God and deepens our faith, especially when everything in and around us is tested.

Prayer: Abba Father, I no longer fear the wilderness, for even there, You are with me. You are my God, and I will earnestly seek and thirst for You in every dry and weary land I encounter. I have seen Your power and glory, and I will praise You. You are the One who satisfies me. Amen.

About this Plan

The Psalms

The Psalms teach us to pray, worship, and be honest before God, expressing every joy, struggle, and question. They shape our faith, pointing to Jesus, who prayed and fulfilled them. Embracing them daily cultivates a life of worship, rooted in God’s Word. In this 27-day plan, we’ll journey through how to navigate both the trials and triumphs of life while awaiting our Lord’s return. Each day includes a short devotional, 2-3 key verses, a thought to ponder, and a closing prayer.
