Faith Incorporated: 5 Reasons to Integrate Your Faith and WorkSample

5 Reasons to Integrate Your Faith and Work: Reason One
As a hobby videographer, Alex Kendrick, dreamed of producing movies that boldly proclaimed faith in God. There was a problem, however.
Alex was an associate pastor at a small-town church in Georgia. He had little money, and he had no actors nearby. Producing movies seemed impossible.
But Alex desired to please God with his movies. The Kendrick brothers, in faith, raised $100,000 and produced Facing the Giants, resulting in grossing over $10 million at the box office.
Hebrews 11:6 says, “Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
In this series, we’re discussing five reasons to integrate your faith and your work. The first reason is to please God.
Our faith in God pleases God. The benefit doesn't stop there. Psalm 37:4 teaches, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Our faith not only puts a smile on God's face, it also results in God desiring to fill our heart with pleasure as well.
When we weave our faith holistically into our work, God is pleased.
Questions for Reflection:
- Reflect on a time when you felt called to pursue a goal or dream that seemed impossible. How did you respond, and what role did faith play in your decision-making process?
- In what areas of your life do you feel a desire to please God, and how can you integrate your faith into those areas, even if it seems challenging or unconventional?
- Consider a current challenge or aspiration in your life. How might applying the principle of Hebrews 11:6—believing that God exists and rewards those who seek Him—change your approach or attitude towards this situation?
