Easter Changes Everything

DAY 1 OF 4

Day 1: God’s Redemptive Plan for the World

Easter is more than a day on the calendar; it is the heartbeat of our faith, an eternal reminder of God’s love and redemption. It’s not a moment in history; it’s the point of history. As Lisa Harper beautifully says, “Easter isn’t one day. It’s the overarching theme of all that we are and why we can hang on to hope.”

What’s more, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the pinnacle of the Christian faith, a living promise that God has been working toward our redemption since the beginning of time. In Genesis 15, God made a covenant with Abraham, symbolized through a powerful blood covenant. While it was customary for both parties to walk through the blood, God alone passed through, declaring that he would bear the cost of our failures. This act foreshadowed the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross—a covenant sealed in his blood, restoring humanity to God.

So, even in moments of doubt or despair, Easter reminds us of hope that transcends circumstances. Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb, and neither does our story end in defeat. His resurrection proclaims that darkness is never the end, and his love will always triumph.

Let’s use this season of Lent to reflect on our lives and relationship with Jesus. Let us live as Easter people in a Good Friday world, embracing the hope and joy of his resurrection every day.

Today's Reflection Question:

What’s one meaningful way you’ve prepared your heart for Easter?

Prayer:

“Lord, your love for me is amazing and traces back to before the beginning of time. For thousands of years, you planned to come in human form and redeem me. I am so grateful. I ask that your resurrection would be alive in my heart—the reality of who you are, all you’ve done, and all you’ve called me to become. I love you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
