God's Resurrection PowerSample

Declaring Freedom Over Brokenness
Brokenness is part of our fallen world. Since Genesis 3, sin has brought destruction, death, and brokenness to the human race. We haven’t been promised a world without trouble and trials. Jesus said we would face difficulties on earth, but He promises that His children can be victorious over sin through the resurrecting power of God!
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” -John 16:33
Cling to the hope of Jesus and the truth that God has raised Him from the dead. He defeated death and has made a way for man to be reconciled to Himself through Jesus’ sacrifice. The same power that raised Him from the dead lives within the heart of each believer—the power of the Holy Spirit.
Because we have been redeemed and restored, we have new life in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and Jesus has promised us abundant life (John 10:10). How do we walk in confidence and with great expectation, as we have been born again?
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. -1 Peter 1:3-9
It’s not easy to walk through seasons of brokenness, but we are never walking through them alone. The Holy Spirit of the Living God, whose power raised Jesus Christ from the dead, is within the believer. We can walk in full confidence, knowing that there is nothing too big for God to handle. There is no situation, pain, behavior, or person that can separate you from the love of God (Romans 8:31-39).
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. -Romans 15:13
Use this list to help guide you as you declare death to the brokenness and walk freely into the redemptive freedom and power of our heavenly Father.
- God raised Jesus from the dead so that I could walk in new life. I have freedom in Christ Jesus. I am walking in great expectation that through the power of the Living God, I can turn away from the brokenness that has held me back and walk into the glorious light of Christ.
- Christ has set me free. There is power in His name. Jesus brings restoration and redeems anything broken with me.
- I fully trust the leading of the Holy Spirit as I release the brokenness, sadness, sickness, anxiety, habits, and pain from within me. These things no longer are lord over my life.
- By the authority and blood of Jesus Christ, He has resurrected me from the dead, and I am walking in His freedom and truth.
- Isaiah 61:1 says, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.”
- I am not afraid. I am not discouraged by the enemy’s armies and strategies against me. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has already defeated my enemies (2 Chronicles 20:15).
