With its rugged mountain landscapes, nomadic heritage, and iconic yurts dotting the countryside, Kyrgyzstan is a nation rich in cultural diversity. Following independence from the USSR in 1991, Kyrgyzstan has grappled with issues of corruption, ethnic tensions, authoritarian rule, and the threat of terrorism. All these challenges hinder progress and stability within the country.

Islam plays a significant role in Kyrgyzstan’s cultural identity. However, ancestor worship and belief in the occult also persist.

Most Christians are Orthodox, yet a growing number of Evangelicals and house churches are bearing fruit for the Gospel. The Church is also experiencing expansion due to relationships with Christians from neighboring nations.

Prayer Points to Consider:

• Pray for the nation's high unemployment and widespread poverty that has forced hundreds of thousands of people to seek work in surrounding countries.
• While the country boasts ethnic diversity, corruption, ethnic divisions, border security concerns, and the threat of terrorism continue to inhibit positive and lasting change. Pray for peace and the stability of the region.
• In Jesus' name and the authority of His Word (Luke 10:17-20, Colossians 2:14-15), engage in spiritual warfare prayer against occult practices, demonic forces, and shamans to no longer hold Kyrgyz people in bondage.
• Pray for the nation to experience a Holy Spirit revelation of Jesus—the Son of God, through dreams, visions, and encounters with the Lord and His believers. Ask for the Gospel to be made known in the unlikeliest of places, reaching the multitudes.
• Pray for the small but growing Church to mature in faith through the Holy Spirit’s power and God’s Word. Ask for Jesus’ peace that passes understanding to guard believers’ hearts and minds as they possibly face persecution. May those who follow the Lord be strengthened with His might in the inner man to be bold and discerning as they share Jesus with others.

Dear Lord Jesus...I pray that You will reveal Yourself to the Kyrgyz people so that multitudes of lives will turn to their Father. May Your children in Kyrgyzstan grow in their intimate knowledge of You, hiding Your Word in their hearts, and be shining lights in the darkness around them. Please give them courage, protection, and boldness. I now speak Your name, King Jesus, to demonic strongholds in Kyrgyzstan _______ (take time, waiting on the Holy Spirit to give you direction) breaking their lies and setting captives free to have open ears to the Gospel. May stability reign, religious freedom abound, and resources be released to the countless numbers of people in need. Amen!
