The soccer game
Imagine the world as a large soccer field. The Church is the team called to take the field and play against the enemy, Satan. But here is the good news: the game has already been won in Christ! Jesus, with His death and resurrection, scored the decisive goal and declared victory. Paul tells us that Jesus stripped the principalities and powers, made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them through the cross.
But be careful: even if victory is assured, the game must still be played. We cannot remain on the bench or in the stands watching. We must go out onto the field, take a stand and play with determination. In Ephesians, Paul tells us that we do not fight against people, but against principalities and powers. The enemy will try to attack, confuse and make us lose ground, but we are equipped with the armor of God to resist and advance.
Jesus is our coach and captain. He has already established the strategy: to play united, supporting each other and following His example. He gives us clear instructions: to go, make disciples and observe His teachings. Every pass, every shot we make on the field is part of His plan.
The enemy will try to score, but let us remember that we are more than conquerors by virtue of the one who loves us. We must play with determination, knowing that it is not a question of “if we will win,” but of how we will show the victory already achieved. The final whistle will come when Christ returns, and on that day we will celebrate as a team that has given everything for the glory of God!
About this Plan

Imagine soccer not just as a sport, but as a powerful metaphor for the Christian life. Every aspect of the game, the field, the rules, the challenges, and the ultimate goal, is reflected in our spiritual journey. As in a game, we face obstacles, work together toward a common goal, and learn to give our all to overcome difficulties. Every move matters, every choice brings us closer to victory. In this study, we will discover how the dynamics of the game can reveal profound lessons about faith and Christian life, knowing that the game is already life.
