More Than Just a Story - the Book of JohnSample

Can you imagine what it would have been like to stand there, watching this story unfold? The very people Jesus came to save mocked Him, beat Him, and nailed Him to a cross. The weight of sin - our sin - pressing down on Him as He struggled for breath. “It is finished.”
This wasn’t a cry of defeat. It was a declaration of victory. The mission was complete. The price was paid. Sin and death no longer had the final say.
From the outside looking in, it must have seemed like the darkest moment in history. The Messiah, the One who healed the sick and raised the dead, was now dying Himself. But what looked like the end was actually the beginning. The cross wasn’t a loss - it was love in its purest form.
Jesus willingly endured the cross for you. Not out of obligation. Not because He had to. But because He loves you that much.
Sometimes we live like His work isn’t really finished. We strive, we try to earn His love, we carry guilt and shame that He already paid for. But it is finished. There’s nothing left to prove. Nothing left to earn. The cross is enough.
Let’s not just acknowledge what Jesus did - let’s live in the freedom He died to give us. The work is done. The debt is paid. The victory is won.
What does “it is finished” mean for your life today?
In what ways are you still trying to earn what Jesus has already freely given you?
How can you live in the freedom and victory that Jesus secured on the cross?
