Faith works the same way. Skipping the step of engaging with God first—whether it’s starting your day in prayer, reading Scripture, or simply pausing to refocus—has a way of catching up with you. Jesus consistently modeled a better way. Throughout His ministry, He pulled away from the crowds to pray and connect with His Father. This time of grounding Himself in God prepared Him for everything ahead.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus prioritizes this principle: “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” Just like a pre-ride check keeps your bike trail-ready, seeking God first centers your heart and mind for the challenges ahead.
