DAY 11 OF 21

Worship Orientation: Reflection

I’d like you to consider, for a moment, in what way you would feel most comfortable worshiping God. Do you like to raise your hands in surrender? How about singing out loud, loud enough to hear yourself? Do you ever visit the Altar during times of worship?

Let’s try something new. Turn on some of your favorite worship music, preferably in solitude. During this time, listen to the song. Don’t move at all. Don’t sing. Don’t do anything but listen. It doesn’t have to be for the entire song, but at some point in time, begin to worship in the following ways.

  • #1. Sing out Loud
  • #2. Raise your Hands
  • #3. Kneel on either or both knees
  • #4. Hop, Bounce, or Sway
  • #5. Pray out Loud
  • #6. Place Hands Together in Prayer

They may feel foreign and odd, but the purpose of this is to get you out of your comfort zone and explore new ways to worship.

  1. How can you intentionally “orient” yourself toward God in everyday moments, not just during formal worship? What thoughts or attitudes do you need to surrender for renewal?
  2. Worship involves more than just music—it’s about surrender and giving God attention. What other ways in your life can you position yourself to focus on Him throughout the day?
  3. Think about times when you might hesitate to fully engage in worship, whether because of pride, discomfort, or uncertainty. How can you overcome those barriers to draw closer to God?
  4. In what ways do you think your relationship with God could deepen through more intentional worship? How can worship be a natural response to His love and grace in your life?
