You Have Power OVER The Enemy

In Avengers: Infinity Wars, everyone was afraid of Thanos when he searched for the Infinity Stones. I mean, he wanted to destroy half of the world's population with the power of the stones. But the Avengers realized something. They could use the stones' power for good if they could get them first.

On day three, we mentioned that angels are fighting for us and that the same power that was in Jesus while He walked the earth is in you and me, too. It's almost as if we have slipped on Jesus' Infinity Gauntlet to fight against the enemy. In the gospel of Mark, Jesus tells His followers that they have His power. He even sent them out into the world to do miracles, cast out demons, and help bring more and more followers to Him. AND THEY DID.

The followers of Jesus had the power to overcome the enemy, and so do you! Jesus has given us that power through the Holy Spirit. It’s a part of God that lives within you and me. When we proclaim Jesus as our Lord and Savior, he begins to live within us in the form of the Holy Spirit, and because of this, we can declare victory. We can call on the power that Jesus has through His Spirit. Before He ascended into Heaven, Jesus said He was leaving an advocate (the Holy Spirit) for us (John 14:16). An advocate fights on our behalf when we cannot.

This is good news! While Satan and his demons are not something to take lightly, there is no reason for fear. There is no reason for cowardice. There is no reason to hide. Why? Because Jesus is with us. The Holy Spirit is within us. And we have an army of angels fighting against the enemy, side by side with you and me.

What are some things that you need to claim God's power over today?
