Being Open to the Holy Spirit
Focus
Take a moment to focus on your breath and invite the Holy Spirit to be with you. Try repeating a simple phrase like, “Come, Holy Spirit.”
When the Ethiopian expresses a desire to be baptized in response to the good news of Jesus, Philip doesn’t question him. He stops the chariot because he recognizes the movement of the Holy Spirit in the Ethopian’s heart. When we are attentive to what the Holy Spirit is doing in the lives of others, we are able to respond quickly to God’s call and help them enter more deeply into relationship with Jesus.
Apply
How can you attentively listen to others today to better see the Spirit moving in their lives?
Respond
Holy Spirit, thank you for the way you transform lives. Teach me to see where you are present around me so I can respond to what you ask of me. Amen.
