The Scandal of Sin

DAY 4 OF 5

Sharing Your Testimony

When Jesus was hanging on the cross, a thief beside Him uttered a desperate plea: “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” At that moment, the thief didn’t offer a perfect prayer or a detailed confession—he acknowledged who Jesus was and trusted Him. In response, Jesus extended salvation and grace.

This interaction reminds us that our stories of deliverance aren’t about how perfect we are or what we’ve done. They’re about the grace of a God who meets us in our brokenness and transforms our lives. Sharing our testimony isn’t just about telling others what God has done for us—it’s about pointing them to the One who can do the same for them.

In Matthew 28, Jesus commissions His followers to make disciples of all nations. Part of fulfilling this mission is sharing how God has worked in our lives. When we tell others how Jesus delivered us, we highlight His power, compassion, and love. Our testimonies remind people that they, too, can find freedom in Him.

The scandal of sin is that it tries to convince us that our stories are too messy, broken, or unworthy to share. But the truth is that God uses our stories—mess and all—to glorify Himself and draw others closer to Him. Just like the thief on the cross, our lives are powerful testimonies of God’s grace and salvation.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How has God’s deliverance in your life changed you?
  2. Who in your life could be encouraged by hearing your story of transformation?
  3. What’s holding you back from sharing your testimony with others?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for the grace You’ve shown me and the freedom You’ve given me. Help me to see my story as a tool for Your glory. Give me the courage to share how You’ve changed my life so that others can see Your power and love. Use my testimony to draw people closer to You. Amen.

Action Step: Take some time today to write out your testimony. Focus on how God has delivered you and transformed your life. Then, share it with someone who needs encouragement—whether it’s a friend, family member, or your community online.
