Five Times God Says 'Do One Thing' in the BibleSample
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
Salaam!
I have a question for you: What came first—the chicken 🐔 or the egg🥚? If you say ‘egg,’ I will ask, who laid the egg? And if you say ‘chicken,’ I’d ask, where did the chicken come from? Tricky, right?
Let’s look at someone in the Bible who had to answer a tricky question —a man blind from birth.
In John 9, we read how Jesus performs one of his greatest miracles by healing this man. This incredible occurrence sparked a discussion among the religious leaders about whether this miracle, performed on the Sabbath, could truly be from God.
The Pharisees, already offended by Jesus' ministry, had decreed that anyone acknowledging Jesus as the Messiah would be expelled from the synagogue (verse 22). The healed man was in a precarious position when the leaders put him on the spot and demanded his opinion on whether Jesus was a sinner or a prophet.
His response was pure genius:
"Whether He is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind, but now I see!" (verse 25).
When questioned about your faith, the smartest thing to do is to stick to what you know —the transformative works God has done in your own life.
Engaging in discussions about God with overly religious believers or people from different faiths can be both tempting and intimidating. Remember, your personal testimony is the most powerful tool you have because no one can dispute or challenge your own experiences!
This story reminds me of one of the greatest hymns ever written: 'Amazing Grace.'
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch, like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
I encourage you to find the song, give it a listen and reflect on the incredible things God has done for us.
Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
