Walk This WaySample
Walk In Faith
Sometimes, it can feel like everywhere we turn, whether on social media or TV, there is more and more corruption and sin in the world. With each coming year, it can feel like the world becomes a darker place. In this passage, we learn that even though Noah was surrounded by wickedness and evil, yet, he was known as a man who was righteous, blameless, and walked faithfully with God. He stood out from the crowd and honored God above all else.
The term “righteous” is used to describe Noah as standing right with God. Noah could not earn his righteousness or even muster it up enough to be in right standing on his own accord. His righteousness came only from his faith in God. Because of Jesus, we can be considered righteous too.
Even though he was surrounded by sinfulness, Noah chose to live a blameless life. Notice the author did not say he lived a perfect life, but a blameless one. If righteous describes Noah’s standing before God, then blameless describes Noah’s standing before people. Noah did not keep his faith private. He lived above reproach, with his faith at the forefront, which changed how he lived and how he interacted with others.
Noah walked faithfully with God. Walking with God is ongoing and not merely a one-time act. He faithfully and continually chose to seek God, follow His commands, and trust in Him no matter the circumstances. Walking with God is not always easy; we must choose in every place and every space, that God is Who we want to follow.
Our world today is becoming increasingly corrupt by the minute. We can be tempted to follow the crowd, compromise our beliefs, and even depend on our own strength and plans to overcome it. Or, we can choose to stand out and honor God, even if no one else does. Noah’s life shows that even one person living faithfully and walking with God can make a difference. Walking with God might not always seem easy, but it is always worth it.
Reflect & Pray
Lord, I thank You that You are the one who makes me righteous and that I do not need to strive. Please help me walk with You each day, just like Noah, and seek Your face above all else. Even when I feel the pressure to live like the rest of the world, will you help me follow You and Your will? Thank you that I get to choose to walk with You each and every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan
Throughout time, and especially in the Bible, the word “walk” has been used as a metaphor to describe the course, cadence, and overall spiritual direction of our lives. From the Garden of Eden to the present day, part of God’s redemptive call and work is teaching His children to “walk this way,” giving direction, counsel, and guidance to our steps. One thing is clear: He cares how we live our lives and desires that we journey through this life in a way that counts.
