Led by His SpiritSample

Most people recognize the importance of gratitude, so if asked, they might describe themselves as grateful. Yet, while gratitude is often declared, it is not always lived. True gratitude—especially toward God—manifests in generosity. A heart transformed by the Holy Spirit cannot remain indifferent to God’s blessings. When we are filled with the Spirit, He stirs in us a deep awareness of God’s goodness and a deep care for the furtherance of the gospel and prompts us to respond with generous hearts to support His work.
Interestingly, a study conducted during the booming economy of the mid-2000s revealed that Americans gave a smaller percentage of their income during that season than during the worst year of the Great Depression. This highlights an important truth: generosity is not about how much we have but about the condition of our hearts. The Holy Spirit transforms our hearts from self-centeredness to generosity and care for others.
Every believer has received the immeasurable gift of salvation through the work of the Holy Spirit. The response of a thankful heart should be a willingness to give, returning to God a portion of that with which He has blessed us so that others can receive the same message of salvation.
