Proverbs reminds us that while we make plans, it is God who ultimately directs our steps. Proverbs 27:1 cautions, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” This wisdom teaches us to hold our plans loosely, surrendering them to God’s greater purposes. In Acts 5, we see Ananias and Sapphira attempting to deceive the community, clinging to their own desires rather than submitting to God’s will. Their tragic story reminds us of the importance of honesty and surrender.
The Holy Spirit calls us to live with an open hand, ready to let go of our own plans when God reveals a different path. When we trust His wisdom over our own, we experience the freedom and peace of knowing He is in control.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you align your plans with God’s will. Surrender any area where you’ve been reluctant to let go, and invite Him to direct your steps. As you walk in obedience, may you find joy in His purposes, trusting that His plans are always greater than our own.
