Journey With Jesus 365

DAY 68 OF 365

How do you deal with great difficulties in your life?

Jesus knew that He would be arrested and would have to take the cup of His Father’s wrath for the sins of the world. He prayed earnestly and agonized to the point that His sweat became drops of blood, but He submitted to His Father’s will. His close disciples, who were supposed to pray, failed Him. He was betrayed by a friend, wrongly arrested, denied by His disciple, mocked, and beaten unjustly. But the Lord showed patience towards His disciples, and He did not retaliate against the people who harmed Him. When asked if He was the Son of God, He told the truth and confirmed that He was, indeed, the Son of God. Facing the most agonizing punishment on earth, He submitted to the Father's will and proclaimed the truth that He was the Son of God even though telling the truth would incriminate Him.

We can learn from the Lord’s example on how to go through life when things seem to turn from bad to worst. We need to pray to God earnestly and rely on Him to enable us to submit to God’s will even in the most difficult times.

Considering Jesus' example, how can you better handle difficulties when they come in the future?
