What does it mean for Jesus to be our Good Shepherd?
Jesus declared He is the good shepherd who gives His life for His sheep. This means Jesus protects the sheep by being watchful and sacrifices Himself to save them from harm. Jesus did that when He went to the cross on our behalf. A good shepherd knows his sheep well and cares for them regardless of the danger. A bad shepherd abandons the sheep when danger approaches.
