Journey With Jesus 365Sample

How do you respond to difficulties in life? When unexpected trials come, do you trust the Lord’s wisdom or do you lean on your own understanding?
Pain, difficulty, sickness, and other trials enter people's lives every day, unannounced. Yet, why do bad things happen to those who love the Lord? While the question is difficult to answer, we can understand that God allows “bad things” as a platform from which He can build the faith of His children. This brings glory to God when He brings relief!
The therefore in John 11:6 is of special consideration. Our Lord waited because He loved Mary and Martha. He allowed the sickness of their dear brother to grow from bad to worse—from sickness to death! He did so in order that those dear women and others could witness His miraculous power. He waited, but finally, He came. Even though He waited, He knew and felt every sigh, grief, and tear that His friends endured. In the end, their sorrow was turned to gladness at the resurrection of their brother Lazarus, and their faith was increased in Christ. In fact, not only was their faith increased, but others also believed that Jesus was the Messiah as well!
What trial or sickness in your life or the life of a loved one has you wondering where the Lord is? Are you questioning under the burden of the trial, waiting for an answer? Allow this trial to cause you to praise the Lord, and say, “Lord, I trust you whatever the outcome of this trial because I know that your ways are always best!”
