Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 1Sample
Week 4
(Genesis 37–50, Psalm 9–11, Proverbs 2, Luke 19–24, Acts 1)
Devotional
As Christians, we often forget the profound significance of the Gospel. We can become so familiar with it that we fail to fully grasp its depth. The grace and mercy of God, given to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, are beyond what we can ever completely understand.
We tend to view the Gospel as an introduction to faith—our salvation and the promise of eternal life. While it is undoubtedly the ultimate expression of God’s love, we often overlook its power to transform every part of our lives.
Take some time to read Luke 23 and 24. Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection showcase God’s love in its fullest form. In response, Jesus asks us to love Him above all else and follow His commands until His return.
In Luke 22:40, Jesus instructed His disciples to stay awake, resist temptation, and seek the Lord through prayer. He calls us to do the same—to remain alert, steadfast in prayer, and focused on Him as we await His return.
Prayer
Ask God for a fresh revelation of the Gospel that deepens your understanding of His character and love. Pray for the truth of the Gospel to transform every area of your life. Finally, ask for the alertness and discipline to stay awake, resist temptation, and labor in prayer until Jesus comes again.
About this Plan
Follow our quarterly plans to read through the entire Bible in one year, plus a bonus round through the Gospels and Romans. Each day has one verse we encourage you to write down, journal about, or memorize, and then you can read sections from both the Old Testament and New Testament. Every week we provide an additional devotional for further discussion on that week's themes.
